Life Update

Hi guys! Just wanted to hop on here to give an update.

I know it's been a while since the first drop in October but I promise I have not stopped working on this brand! Releasing the first 9 items made me realize a lot of things that my brand was lacking. This included a lack of packaging, labeling, and other issues regarding the products I use to make my clothing. Since realizing this, I have been working hard to make sure I get these things taken care of so that I can stay consistent with my production. For me, this meant purchasing a more reliable sewing machine, an embroidery machine, coming up with packaging designs, and ordering everything to make opening up my clothing a fun experience for the customers.

Going into this, I didn't realize how much goes into owning a small business. I learned that it's a lot of trial and error but I'm still pushing so that this brand can be everything I want it to be and more!

As always, I will continue to take custom orders as you guys request them. You can checkout the "Custom Orders" highlight on my Instagram to see some of the work I've done! I will be posting another drop very, very soon but it takes time due to shooting and putting it all on the website so hang in there with me! I've already made more items than the last drop and hope to shoot it all in the next few days. Hold tight for some fun Super Bowl apparel to support the Chiefs!

My Story

Hi guys! Most of you probably know me but if you don’t, I would love to introduce myself. My name is Taylor Smith and I am a 21 year old girl from Rochester, NY. I currently live in Lawrence, KS and have spent the last few months trying to discover who I am and what I want to do with my life. I have always had a passion for fashion since I was a little girl watching America's Next Top Model and Project Runway with my mom. I always wanted to have an occupation in the fashion world, but never really believed I was good enough. After bouncing around many, many different majors in college, I soon discovered I was really bored in life. When COVID struck in March of 2020, I decided to take the time of quarantine and treat it as a blessing. I used this blessing as a time for self-discovery and self-growth. I gained more confidence in myself than I could’ve ever imagined. I even gained the confidence to start pursuing my passions...

I decided to purchase a sewing machine and teach myself to make clothing items that I wanted to wear. Super random, right? But, I ended up LOVING it. And that is where this all started. Welcome to TayMade Clothing, a place for me to sell the “one-of-a-kind” apparel I like to make when I’m feeling extra passionate. Feel free to shop around and stay for a while!
